Alexander Gelbard MD

Dr. Gelbard is very patient and kind listening to me very attentively and making me feel relaxed and at ease during my exam. He's an awesome physician.

First, Dr. Larkin came in and discussed the issues I was experiencing and gave me information about what would be done that day. He was very attentive, calm and patient. Dr. Gelbard was very attentive and patient as we discussed what I had been experiencing. Together they did a very smooth scope. I felt very comfortable and confident in the care plan that Dr.Gelbard explained. I had a very good visit. Dr. Netterville had always spoken so highly of Dr.Gelbard so I felt a very smooth and confident transition in care. I very much appreciate the excellent care I have received for years at Vanderbilt.

Dr Gelbard as well as Dr Haines were absolutely fantastic!

Dr. Gelbard showed complete understanding of my quest to find out the cause of my breathlessness with exertion, which causes my daily routines to be done breathing through a straw. After we observed that my windpipe was open and healthy, we ruled out sub-gluttoris stenosis. However, Dr. Gelbard stepped up to the plate in getting me to a Vanderbilt pulmonologist for further analysis; if that does not provide answers, perhaps it is a pinched nerve in my spine...he said he would see me through thr system to find my problem. During this 6 year saga of trying to get help, Dr. Gelbard is the first to show compassion and empathy for my miserable life trying to breath. He is seems morally bound to find a solution. I thank him for his gestures of concern and kindness. Rarely do you find this in a physician in this day and age.

Dr. Gelbard is an excellent physician.He thoroughly explains all procedures, problems and treatments. He is compassionate, professional and knowledgeable. He never rushed through appointments. Takes the time with each patient.Excellent with teaching the residents, fellows that are with him too.
