Decision was made before she came in to examine my child. She didn't have a lot of information about other options or treatments for PFAPA and reform her surgeon's advice rather having helpful information or other outlets for us to discuss

The medicine prescribed before my kid even did the sleep study was never picked up from the pharmacy because I did not want her on a medication every day for mild snoring. The sleep study proved she has mild sleep apnea. They prescribed the same thing again, Montelukast, without explaining the risks associated with the medicine. The pharmacist wanted me of the possible side effects and the labels said this has caused behavioral problems in patients. They told me this was her only option other than a sleep apnea mask or surgery to remove apendoids. I said it'd try the medicine first but I would not have agreed to this medication if I'd known the known risks.
