I have seen multiple doctors. He is the first doctor who has seen and treated my condition before. He showed great compassion for what I am going through. He explained treatment options thoroughly and he bolstered my hope for recovery.

The doctor seemed to rush through my visit. When I told him about the medication not being effective, I had to ask about an increase or change in medication. The trigger point injections were extremely painful this time. He did, however, give me a break when I needed it and then resume treatment. I felt it could have been more tolerable for me if he went slower and more gentle with the injections. After the injections, I needed to ask a question. I did ask the question, while his hand was on the door handle and then the door partially open. I didn't feel that I, my questions and concerns were priority during my appointment. Prior to this appointment, I have had a very good interaction with the doctor.

The doctor was one of the best I have ever dealt with! He explained everything in words I could understand. He asked the right questions and was very thorough in explaining what my options were and what the procedure was as well as any possible complications might be

Dr MacDougall listened to my issues, looked at my transferred MRI and informed me of what was happening. I had seen another neurosurgeon surgeon closer to home that was referred by my primary care physician. He said surgery would not help and offered no other form of help for my condition. Whereas when Dr MacDougall looked at the MRI he explained why the Dr was correct; however he went on to explain why surgery would not help and offered another avenue to help manage the pain. I am so relieved to have a doctor as concerned and knowledgeable as the drs at Vanderbilt, most especially Dr MacDougall. It's a comfort to know he literally has my back'! Thank you and God bless you all.
