Neonatal and Pediatric Transport

Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt’s pioneering Neonatal and Pediatric Transport service was the first of its kind in our region. We offer specialized neonatal and pediatric critical care transport 24 hours a day, primarily serving Tennessee, Southern and Western Kentucky and North Alabama.

Our Neonatal and Pediatric Transport Team specializes in emergency transport of critically ill children from birth to age 21 requiring care at Monroe Carell.

About Us

Registered nurses, respiratory therapists and emergency medical technicians are a part of each transport team. Experience and continuous training in our intensive care units and emergency department give us the specialized skills to care for the most critical neonatal and pediatric patients. Our emergency room attending physicians, neonatologists, and pediatric intensive care unit physicians provide medical direction.

The transport team has the capability to transport patient on body cooling, bubble CPAP, ECMO, high flow nasal cannula, high frequency ventilation, mechanical ventilation and nitric oxide.
