NICU Bridge to Home
At Monroe Carell, we specialize in providing the best neonatal intensive care. If your baby qualifies, we may offer you our NICU Bridge to Home monitoring program. You'll be able to take your baby home where our team will be able to provide the care you need through our remote monitoring platform and telehealth appointments.
We will explain how this works if you choose to participate. Our team will enroll you in the NICU Bridge to Home program before your discharge and give you all the information you need to continue your baby's care at home.
Your baby will receive the care that is right for them, just like they would at Monroe Carell. You'll enjoy the convenience of being in your own home and on your schedule while still receiving expert neonatal advice and monitoring.

Why Choose the NICU Bridge to Home Program
- Highest-level NICU
The NICU at Monroe Carell is rated Level IV by the American Academy of Pediatrics. This is the highest possible classification. It means your baby will not be transported to another hospital, no matter how serious or complex their condition. Vanderbilt has specialists in medical and surgical care and pediatric anesthesiology who only treat children. This includes the smallest babies born before term.
- Same expert care with more convenience
When you choose NICU Bridge to Home for your eligible baby, you get the same expert care you'd enjoy at Monroe Carell. But you'll have the comfort and convenience of your own home surroundings. Our care team is a quick message away with our provided communication tools.
- Fewer days in the NICU
On average, eligible families who choose NICU Bridge to Home leave the hospital about nine days sooner than others. This could mean more time at home for you and baby.
