Neonatal Development
The experts at Monroe Carell's Neonatal Development Clinic care for babies who were born prematurely, had a low birth weight, have a complex medical history, are at risk for developmental delays or have ongoing medical problems. We know that babies and toddlers thrive the most when we find developmental challenges early, and connect your family with the resources you child needs.
Our team includes developmental physicians, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, occupational therapists and psychologists who work with you to meet your child’s development goals.
We monitor your child’s growth and development through the first three years of life. We facilitate referrals to early intervention providers, therapies and supportive equipment. We also provide recommendations about growth and nutrition and connect you with other medical specialists as needed.
NICU Follow-Up Appointments
If your baby was in the Vanderbilt NICU, you will receive an appointment date upon discharge. We also accept age-appropriate referrals from community providers. Call (615) 322-3475 to make, change or cancel an appointment.
We offer developmental screenings at each visit. Visits are scheduled every three to 12 months depending on your child’s specific needs.
