The Fetal Cardiology Clinic at Children's Hospital is part of the Fetal Center and the Pediatric Heart Institute at Vanderbilt. Our cardiologists work closely with your obstetrician and maternal fetal specialists throughout your pregnancy. We provide ongoing support and information about your child’s diagnosis. You'll help us create a specialized healthcare plan for your baby for the best possible start in life, including counseling, medical management and therapies, and delivery planning.
Our cardiology and cardiac surgery team is ranked among the best in the nation for pediatric cardiology and heart surgery services. Our team includes dedicated fetal cardiologists, surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, electrophysiologists, interventional catheterization specialists and skilled cardiac nurses.
The Pediatric Heart Institute and the Fetal Cardiology Clinic actively participate in the NPCQIC, a multicenter effort dedicated to improving care and outcomes for babies with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), beginning in fetal life.
We closely follow you and support you throughout pregnancy. We will coordinate consultations with other medical specialists your child will require, including cardiac surgeons, neonatologists, geneticists and social workers. We will plan for all aspects of your child’s cardiology care including feeding and developmental support after birth.
Most importantly, we recognize that each child and each family is unique. Your family will always be at the center of your baby's care team.
